I have the feeling this aria is a bit too low for his voice. It does not fit him well and does not permit him to display fully his talent

@VacnaPaul - - ...
@VacnaPaul - - Jaroussky does not run out of breath; he can sing runs many times longer than the run at 2.40 with ease. At 2.40 the music ends on a very low note for a soprano, where it is harder to make the same amount of sound as in the middle and high registers, especially when singing a coloratura passage, where you must stay in one technical place in order to execute it effectively. Jaroussky sings lower notes with much more power when they are isolated, further along in the aria.

It's like a fresh breeze in a summer evening when he started singing. So comforting and so soothing!!!

@Garpinator yeh thats what i thought!! most of his operas were in the classical period as well!!
Your tag should ...
Your tag should really read "Galante" or "Pre-classical" rather than "Baroque". Gluck broke rather radically with the conventions of Baroque Opera (as practiced by his rival J. A. Hasse)
It's actually not a ...
It's actually not a falsetto. Jaroussky is a counter tenor, a rare type of singer who can sing in the alto and soprano ranges. For those more acquainted with popular music, think Michael Jackson. The effect used to be obtained artificially by castrating prepubescent boys, known as castrati.

Some people are strange, indeed . I don't see how Jaroussky could annoy anyone even though I can understand people not keen on this type of music and singers.

He doesn't annoy me here as much as he usually does (although I will admit I had to avert my eyes and just listen to gain this effect).

ok, only one run :) ...
ok, only one run :)... the one at 2:40, it's like he runs out of breath. And btw he's the first classical artist I've seen with such joy and childish gestures in his performance. He's brilliant!
you are not wrong, ...
you are not wrong, for some reason, here he lacks perfection in control. The notes seem to end without a closing. I saw other interpretation and was falwless. I may be because of the audio. Of course, I'm only reffering to 'some' of the runs. Anyway he's a cutie pie.
