Вследствие второй карабахской войны появилось много вопросов относительно российской политики на Южном Кавказе. Некоторые эксперты утверждают, что сама война явилась результатом соглашения Россия - Турция - Азербайджан, и цель России заключалась в том, чтобы заставить Армению принять «план Лаврова», отклоненный властями Армении весной 2020 года. Между тем, война привела к значительному усилению влияния Турции в регионе. В рамках своей миротворческой миссии Россия де-факто создала военную базу в Карабахе, и, скорее всего, база останется там больше 5 лет. В краткосрочной перспективе Россия продолжит конкурентные отношения с Турцией в регионе, и Армении следует учитывать эту динамику. Russian policy in the South Caucasus after the second Karabakh war
The second Karabakh war raised many questions concerning Russian policy in the South Caucasus. Some experts argue that the war was due to a Russia – Turkey – Azerbaijan agreement, and the goal of Russia was to force Armenia to accept the Lavrov plan rejected by Armenian authorities in the spring of 2020. Meanwhile, the war resulted in a significant increase in Turkey’s influence in the region, which is problematic for the Kremlin. Through its peacekeeping mission, Russia established a de facto military base in Karabakh, and the deployment of their peacekeepers will likely last longer than the initial five-year plan. In the short-term perspective, Russia will continue its cooperative/competitive relations with Turkey in the region, and Armenia should take this into account.
