Things you do not want to spend it on
- any slot that will be occupied by a tier piece (HEAD, SHOULDERS, CHEST, LEGS, GLOVES)
- this rules out the head with embellishment (also just not a good effect) FLARING COWL
- Embellished boots are not good either TOXIC THORN FOOTWRAPS
- Trinkets (none of them are bis for us)
- Weapons are a MAYBE. There are a lot of weapon options throughout m+ and the raid.
the benefit of a weapon is customized secondary stats but you can craft them later.
- Engineer bracers can be good but there are higher ilvl leather wrists from Broodkeeper Diurna.
If you plan on killing her, you should wait for those wrists. You could also make them if you do
a lot of m+ because the tinker bonus is not exclusive to engineers meaning you can socket an invis,
battle rez, frontal flame breath and more. In my opinion this is not a priority though.
If you did end up spending one of your sparks on something you potentially shouldn't have, you're not completely screwed
as that gear will tide you over until you replace it but later down the line it will have been a waste. The bright side is
that as I mentioned, you'll be getting more sparks and later on you'll have a bunch to play with
WHAT SHOULD YOU CRAFT
If you want to make something right away, you can make a non-set leather piece. Personally, I made
a leather belt as that's the piece that fits into our endgame bis gear set up. You could opt for a cloak
or boots but cloaks are much easier to get naturally as they aren't locked to an armor type.
in terms of boots there are good crit/mastery boots that drop from Halls of Valor so those will be easy
to get from M+
Most importantly, the first thing you'll want to make sure you spend a spark on is the Elemental Lariat.
Fairly cheap to make and the effect is incredibly good.
not craftable until the start of S1 when the primal storm events begin as they drop the recipe
You're able to put 2 sockets on it as well as get the embellishment effect.
Embellishments are special effects that either come on crafted gear naturally or can be recrafted into them
your character can have 2 total embellishments so if this neck is using one of them that only leaves you with 1 more
This rules out any of the other crafted gear that has set bonuses on it like Snowball Makers as they require 2 embellishments
to get the set bonus.
So you'll have the embellishment from the Elemental Lariat and then you can put one on your other piece of crafted.
Currently, the best one for havoc is the Blue Silken Lining which gives a good chunk of mastery when you're above 90%
health.
To get these pieces crafted you'll likely have to find someone from trade who has specialized in making these pieces.
These aren't things ANY leatherworker or jewelcrafter can make efficiently, especially if you're adding an embellishment
which increases the craft difficulty.
